His speaking engagements have included the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Council on Foreign Relations, The Aspen Institute and the Milken Institute, and Patrick has testified before the U.S.-China Economic and Security Review Commission on Chinese investment in the United States. Patrick is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and has been a featured commentator for The Wall Street Journal, Dallas Morning News and other news organizations.

Amanda Schnetzer


With more than 20 years in the global business and nonprofit arenas, Amanda has developed a keen understanding of how to transform vision into strategy and action for meaningful, measurable impact. As director of global initiatives at the George W. Bush Institute, she worked with the former President and First Lady to help realize their strategic vision for an action-oriented policy and programming organization during its founding years. At notable public policy research institutions like Freedom House and the American Enterprise Institute, Amanda honed her management, editorial and technical skills in research design for definitive studies analyzing country-level and geopolitical risks, individual experiences of freedom, and critical global challenges in U.S. foreign policy. Amanda has testified before the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee, and her writing has appeared in the Philadelphia Inquirer, Foreign Policy, Orange County Register, Wall Street Journal Europe and other publications. Amanda is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and holds degrees from Georgetown University and Southern Methodist University, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa.

Gabriel “Gabo” Alvarado


Gabo is a seasoned U.S. national security professional who blends superior research design and execution with deep subject matter expertise on Chinese political, economic and security objectives. His experience delivering value to public and private sector clients includes time at Cadmus, where he assessed risks and developed exercises in the homeland security space, and with Crumpton Group, as senior China analyst and deputy team chief. Gabo has served his country as a political analyst in government, including at the U.S. Department of State in the bureaus of East Asian and Pacific Affairs and Western Hemisphere Affairs, and his analysis has been featured in The Diplomat, Cipher Brief, Defense News Early Bird Brief and other news outlets. Gabo holds degrees from the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University and Oberlin College.
